Events can be added to show events that are not related to only one task, but could be important for all to now.

E.g. Deadlines, shutdown periods, vacations

Events can be added as single date-events or event ranges:

The events and event ranges can be formatted in the format pane, and it's position can be selected:

By default, events are showing behind the taskbars:
