Custom date filters - Profitbase/PowerBI-visuals-Gantt GitHub Wiki

Custom date filters let you add predefined date ranges or shortcuts to the top of your Gantt visual. This allows report viewers to quickly jump to specific milestones or zoom the timeline into important project phases with a single click.

1. Custom Date Filter Types

You can configure three different types of date filters in Edit Mode:

Custom Date Filter Types

Specific Date

Jumps the timeline scroll position directly to a single, chosen date.

  • Example: Jump to Jan 1st 2025 to inspect the project at the start of the year.

Specific Date Setup

Date Range

Filters the timeline to show only the tasks that occur between two fixed dates.

  • Example: Display only tasks falling within Q1 (from 01/01/2025 to 31/03/2025).

Dynamic Date Range (Relative Dates)

Creates a moving filter range based on a reference date (such as Today, the start of the current week, the start of the current month, or the start of the current year).

  • Example: Show a window of the Next 75 days from Today. As time moves forward, the filter window moves with it automatically.

  2. Expand the Custom Filters card.

3. How Report Viewers Use Custom Filters

When enabled, a Select Custom Filter dropdown appears in the visual's top toolbar:

Report viewers can click this dropdown to select any of your predefined filters. The timeline will instantly adjust to display the selected date window:
