Baseline formatting (Planned start end date) - Profitbase/PowerBI-visuals-Gantt GitHub Wiki

Adding date fields to the Planned Start Date and Planned End Date data buckets adds a baseline to your tasks, allowing you to compare your original project schedule against actual progress.

Planned Start and End Date data buckets

1. Baseline Features and Requirements

Thinner Bar Display

The baseline is illustrated as a thinner bar (defaulting to an orange-brown shade) drawn directly underneath each actual taskbar so you can see schedule differences at a glance.

Requires Both Fields

Baseline bars will only appear on the timeline if both the Planned Start Date and Planned End Date buckets are filled. If either is left empty, the baseline bar will not display.

Baseline Tooltips

Hovering your mouse cursor over a baseline bar in the chart displays a tooltip showing the task's planned start date, finish date, and duration.

Child Tasks Only

Baselines are shown only on individual task rows. They do not summarize or combine into parent grouping rows.

2. Formatting Options

Under the Baselines card in the Format pane, you have the following controls to style your baselines:
