Great Works in Princes of Darkness are similar enough to Vanilla Crusader Kings 2 but with a twist, most of them starting as an hindrance to the player (either through the main wonder or through features). Building them is also more expensive and takes longer, befitting the longer time scale of the mod.

The list of Great Works in Princes of Darkness is as such :

Alamut :

  • Present for clan Assamite in Alamut, Persia.
  • Unique features : Central Vault, Heartsblood, Black Throne of Haqim.

Alamut is mostly a political Great Work for the Assamite clan. It focuses heavily on intrigue related bonus but also provides, with the Black Throne, a way for a successful Assamite Eldest to rein the clan to his will, representing the steadfast unity that the Haqimites are capable of.

Rome :

  • Present for all clans in Roma, Italia.
  • Unique features : The 13 Imperial Cainite Regions (one for each) and the Templars Headquarters.

Rome is a high risk high reward wonder. With a hefty entry cost and the Templars HQ prebuilt, it will severely hinder the unprepared Prince. But Rome's potential is huge, with an array of powerful bonus in many situations. As a flavor option, a Rome fully mastered by Titus Camille (the original prince of Rome during the Empire's nights) will have access to an unique feature.

Ceoris :

  • Present for clan Tremere in Feher, Transylvania.
  • Unique features : The Council Chambers, the Gargoyles Pens, the Library, Tosia's faction.

Clan Tremere's chantry is an impressive fortress from the get go, and a major asset for their war against the Tzimisce. But part of the Usurpers' focus is distracted by the still powerful mortal faction, suspecting foul play on their comrades' part. Once Tosia, their leader, has been dealt with, Ceoris will be able to ascend to its rightful position of the most innovative Cainite center of the world.

Carthage :

  • Buildable for religion Assamite/Brujah/Promethean/Baali/Molochim in Tunis, Tunisia.
  • Unique features : Brujah District. Assamite District. Baali District. Timeloop Prison.

Long gone Carthage is still a powerful rallying cry for the several clans who backed it. An ambitious character rebuilding it would gain the everlasting ire of clan Ventrue and the respect of clans Assamite, Brujah and Baali depending on the district built. Finally, a master of Temporis could try his hand at unlocking the time bound prison in Carthage's depths, freeing the trapped warriors there.

Founding Temple of Set :

  • Present for clan/religion Setite in Gizeh, Kharga, Aswan, Sarqihya, Cairo.
  • Buildable for clan/religion Setite in Alexandria, Tunis, Tangier, Napoli.
  • Unique features : Set Statue, Cultists Barracks, Hidden Tunnels, Private Altar.

Strongholds of Clan Setite, these worship centers are home to decadence, luxury and conversion (free or otherwise). They are a versatile tool, providing troops, prestige and loyalty among other bonus. The Egyptian temples are already well built and powerful, allowing a daring Setite ruler to hold several of them from the get go.

Erciyes :

  • Present for clan Cappadocian, Giovanni and Malkavian in Kaisereia, Cappadocia.
  • Unique features : Caias' Statue, Altar of Bones, Fragments' Alcove, Cappadocius Chamber.

The Headquarters of Clan Cappadocian are a powerful control tool for the aspirant Master with flexible upgrades and a powerful demesne size bonus. Due to its seclusion, the Erciyes will always gives a plot power malus to its owner though, representing the fateful destiny of the too much inward focused clan Cappadocian.

Cathedral of Flesh :

  • Present for religion Koldun and Baali characters in Galich, Transylvania.
  • Unique features : Resisting Kupala's Influence (4 stages), Szlachta Barracks, Pool of Blood, Wailing Chorus.

Merely owning the Cathedral will greatly cripple the character's ability to perform outside of it with a massive plot power decrease. Fighting against it is an arduous process, but can permit to "cleanse" the Cathedral, turning it into a powerful tool for loyalty and defense purposes.

Castle of Shadows :

  • Present for clan Lasombra and religion Autarkis characters in Syracusae, Sicily.
  • Unique features : Shadow Walls, Court of Blood, Labyrinth of Darkness, Lasombra's Chamber.

The most straightforward Great Work of the mod is similar to vanilla ones, offering a variety of perks without any malus. As such, it is significantly costlier to upgrade it than other wonders. The rich Lasombra character will be able to enjoy a great control over the clan and an hefty plot efficiency bonus.
