aTelloPilot Settings (From V0.6)

1.DEVICE

a. Disable auto connection

  • it disables Tello drone registration for devices with WiFi scanning problem
  • connects Tello with the current connected WiFi as official Tello app does

b. Tello drone registration

  • register Tello drone for auto-connecting
  • Android Location service should be turned on to scan WiFi

2.CONTROLLER

a. Stick Position

  • Stick position is MODE2 (LEFT:Yaw/Throttle, RIGHT:Roll/Pitch)
  • Yaw/Throttle position selection (not mode change)
    • Yaw/Throttle and Roll/Pitch position is swapped
    • easy for gyro sensor control

b. Acc Sensor Sensitivity

  • gyro sensor sensitivity
    • higher, more sensitivity

c. FlyPad/GameSir (GameSir available from V 0.5 release)

  • register Parrot FlyPad or GameSir T1D controller
    • it can be activated in the main controller screen

d. Button mapping

  • mapping the bluetooth/usb controller buttons to the functions
    • ① ~ ⑦ functions are matched with number buttons on screen
  • L2(LT) / R2(RT) buttons are used as combination buttons (like shift keys)
    • L2(LT) / R2(RT) buttons can not be used alone
  • available buttons for supported controllers
    • below buttons can be used alone or combined with L2(LT) / R2(RT)

3.FEATURES

a. Video recording file format

  • MP4 : general use (default)
  • h.264 : raw video stream for debugging

b. Audio Recording (available from V 0.5 release)

  • enable recording audio from device mic.
  • only available with MP4 video format

c. TTS

  • Enable/Disable "Text To Speech"

d. Video Processing (default : off)

  • this switch is enabling/disabling video processing such as face tracking (turn it on for face tracking)
  • video processing requires much cpu power and specific feature Android supports
  • if the device does not support required feature, this is turned off internally and face tracking is deactivated
  • if your device is slow when it is on, turn it off

e. Face Detection library checking

  • face detection is processed with Google vision library
  • Google Play Services has probably not finished loading the required files.
  • Usually, the download is taken care of at application install time, but this is not guaranteed.
  • In some cases the download may be delayed.
  • if the library checking fails
    • disconnect from the drone and connect to the internet
    • go to playstore and see there is an update about "Google Play Services", if so update it
    • if the issue is still reproduced
      • go to applications in the Android settings and find "Google Play Services"
      • click storage and clear cache
      • go to aTelloPilot and click the "check" button, it will initiate Google Play Services to download the library
      • after several minute, click the button again to see if it is working well

f. RC tuning

  • RC outputs can be tuned with 'Rate' and 'Expo'
  • 'Rate' tunes the slope of the line or curve
  • 'Expo' tunes the variation points of the curve
  • max 'Rate' and min 'Expo' will make input:output ratio to 1:1
    • no modification for output

4.TELLO

a. Photo Quality

  • Normal / High

b. Low Battery Warning

  • can change battery warning level (10% ~ 50%)

c. Exposure Value

  • can change camera exposure

d. Video bitrate

  • can change video bitrate (Auto, 0.5Mb, 1Mb, 1.5Mb, 2Mb, 3Mb, 4Mb)

e. Altitude Limit

  • can change altitude limit from 1m ~ 30m)

f. Log saving

  • saving flight logs for analysis

g. Video mode startup (available from V 0.5 release)

  • change video mode when it starts up.
