Submit a correction via email - PerseusDL/canonical-greekLit GitHub Wiki

If you are unfamiliar with GitHub, feel free to submit a proposed correction via email.

When submitting a correction, please include:

  • A link to the section of the work where the error may be found (when appropriate). If the error persists throughout a work, a link to the start of the work is fine. Be as precise as possible. A word-level link, for instance, is ideal if the error is found in a single word.
  • A brief description of the error. ("X is misspelled"; "Y should be X"; "Z is accented incorrectly").
  • If you found a source edition online (such as a pdf of the original print edition), feel free to link to this in support of your report.
  • Do not assume that any highlighting or special formatting included in your email will be received.
  • Do not include large blocks of text, whole files, or other attachments. Cutting and pasting a section of text without explicitly noting the error(s) in question is discouraged. Further, our junk mail filters will disallow unsolicited attachments.
  • Minimize use of screen shots and keep them inline email (not as attachments). We prefer text to images, as this permits a quick content search for faster editing, but if you feel that your issue is not well-captured, judicious use of screen shots is fine.

Please note that we will cross-check any error reports against the print source of the work in question. At this writing, we not correct variants, or instances where there is an editorial dispute over the correct word(s). In instances where there has been an obvious misprint, such as in a translation, the editor may, at his or her discretion, note a proposed correction and the original reading.
