Stackatick - Peculiar-Room/Species GitHub Wiki
- From version 3.0 onwards, roombugs will be replaced by stackaticks. This page will be on par with the 3.0 changes, but as a disclaimer, Roombugs in 2.0 cannot be controlled when ridden, cannot be bred, cannot be dyed, cannot be made quiet, cannot be stacked and do not fit to the block grid when sleeping
Stackaticks are lazy arthropods found lounging around in hot biomes. Their thick shells resemble pottery and allow them to withstand heavy loads, so they can easily carry other mobs on top of them. Their trust can be gained using their affinity for honey. Once trusted they make a quirky little companion... Or a nice chair. Designed by Ninni.
Stackaticks spawn naturally in the overworld in biomes tagged #stackatick_spawns
. They spawn in small groups with 1
to 3
individuals.
By default, #stackatick_spawns
comprehends #minecraft:is_badlands
and #minecraft:is_savanna
which (combined) includes the savanna, savanna plateau, windswept savanna, badlands, eroded badlands, and wooded badlands
Stackaticks require a well-lit grass block to spawn on. The light level must be 8
or higher, provided by either sky-light or block-light.

Stackaticks generally wander aimlessly, they follow players if they're holding any item from the #stackatick_tempt_items
tag, which includes both #stackatick_breed_items
and #stackatick_tame_items
, so by default honeycomb and honeycomb blocks
If harmed, the stackatick flees for a few seconds.
Stackaticks are considered arthropods and take increased damage from the Bane of Arthropods
enchantment.
Stackaticks can be stood on, similar to shulkers.
Stackaticks can be tamed using honeycomb. Note that the amount of honeycombs required is random: Each has a 1⁄3
chance of taming the stackatick.
Tamed stackaticks can be healed by feeding them honey bottles.
Feeding two stackaticks any item from the #stackatick_breed_items
tag will result in them entering love mode. By default, the tag contains only honeycomb blocks.
Tamed stackaticks will follow the player around, and if the player leaves a radius of 12
blocks around them, they will attempt to teleport. Note that stackaticks will need extra room to teleport due to the possibilty of carrying a bigger mob on top of them.
Players may also mount a stackatick by right-clicking them, but their movement can only be controlled if tamed.
Stackaticks themselves are not fast, but controlling them can be an easy way to position them correctly to then make themsleep.
A tamed stackatick can be made to 'sleep' by shift right-clicking it, and can be told to 'wake up' by shift right-clicking it again.
When set to sleep, a stackatick will close its eyes and retreat its legs and antennas inside its body, fitting precisely in a 1 block space. This can be useful if the player plans to incorporate them in builds.
Sleeping stackaticks will display 'z' particles and make snoring noises unless they are dyed or standing on any block from the #stackatick_is_comfy_on
tag, which by default includes all wool, wool carpets and beds.
Stackatick shells are shaped in such a way that allows for them to be dropped on each other to make a tower.

A stackatick that's on the ground and in its sleeping state will allow certain mobs nearby to mount it, similar to a boat or minecart. The list of mobs that can mount a stackatick is determined by various criteria.
In order to mount a stackatick, any mob must;
- Not be a stackatick
- Have a horizontal hitbox smaller than 2 blocks
- Be a living entity
- Not be a aquatic mob
Stackaticks will keep the mob on their back even if they are commanded to wake up. They can walk around and even teleport along with them, making them useful to transport mobs around your world.
A mob can be dismounted from a stackatick by shift right-clicking the mob itself.
Tamed Stackaticks can be dyed by shift right-clicking them with any dye, and their patterning can be washed off by right-clicking them with a water bucket.
