Battleships is a game played on two boards, one for each player. Each board consists of a 10x10 grid where the player is allowed to place down their ships. Ships are pieces which vary in length that take up spaces on the board. They can be arranged either horizontally or vertically in the space provided. Each ship must be selected and placed on your board before the game can begin and they cannot overlap each other. Once both the player and the opponent has placed each ship on their respective side of the board, the game can begin with the starting player selected at random.
The game proceeds in rounds, where each round the player clicks a square on the opposing board attempting to hit the opponents ship. The opponent does the same, clicking on the players board attempting to hit a ship. The opposing boards are hidden for each player. Each time a square is clicked it will be marked either red for a hit or white for a miss. To destroy a ship you must hit all the squares in which the ship lies, in which case the ship will be shown to the player destroyed and slightly transparent. Once all ships on one side of the board have been destroyed, the opposing side wins. If both sides of the boards are destroyed in the same round, it results in a draw.
