Bewitchment

Introduction

Bewitchment is a new method to apply specific effects on items.

They are distinct from the regular Enchantments, which means that an item benefiting from the effects of bewitchments may be deprived of its Enchantments with a Grindstone, but will not lose its Bewitchments. Nevertheless, an item without Enchantment that get a Bewitchment will no longer be able to be enchanted with an Enchanting Table, but will still be able to benefit from the books of Enchantment through an anvil. ⠀

Applying Bewitchments

An Ancient Altar in the treasure room of a Higuru Temple.

Right-click the center block of the Ancient Altar to open its inventory.

Bewitchments can be applied by combining an Ancient Tablet and a suitable item in an Ancient Altar, present in the Higuru Temple. They have three factors to respect to be applied, otherwise it will fail:

  • The Ancient Altar must contain only one Ancient Tablet as well as the item to bewitch. The presence of any other item, or the superposition of several Tablets, will cause the bewitchment to fail.
  • The item we are trying to bewitch must be compatible with the bewitchment of the Ancient Tablet (see the list of bewitchments).
  • The player must have 40 or more levels.

When these conditions are met, the player will have to activate the Ancient Altar by pressing the button above it. The spell will then be applied to the item, the Ancient Tablet will be absorbed in the process, and 10 levels will be deducted to the player. ⠀
