Gigahertz: a unit of measure on cycle speed of processors equals a billion cycles per second Bus: Systems of travel used to transmit a processor's 1’s and 0’s to either other sections of the processor or external devices. Buses for inter CPU communication are called internal data bus while those that go to external devices are called external data buses ALU: an arithmetic logic unit that handles the calculations and the computers logic system Pipelines: Systems of buses that work together to streamline tasks
A processor is the central control unit for a computer, it manages input and output operations of the computer, performs arithmetic calculations. From there the information which a CPU is dealing with is either sent to a different part of the pc or is sent to another part of the CPU through either external or internal buses. The speed at which CPUs can send information is called clock speed measured in hertz and determines how fast information is sent out, the higher the clock speed the faster the speed but also the more strain placed on the CPU. inside of the CPU is cache memory or memory which is very fast dedicated to speeding up CPU processes.
