Current Project Status: Amber

The team has made good progress in all domains. We have successfully built the user registration and login pages with Firebase Database and Firebase Authentication. The system now stores and retrieves data successfully. Second domain where we have made significant progress is we have gathered a dataset for the ML model and from next sprint we will begin training the model. We are currently working dedicatedly towards the research related to implementation of other functionalities.

Team Goals for the upcoming week:

Major goal for the next sprint is to begin writing test cases for the developed functionalities, start with the mode_selection screen, training the ML model and start building the video chat room. The team will focus on enhancing automation to streamline development and testing processes. We will ensure steady progress by adhering to the sprint plan, with each member working on their assigned tasks efficiently. Regular check-ins will be conducted to track milestones and address any blockers. Additionally, we will refine our ML model and backend integration to align with project goals.

Individual Team Member Status:

• Antariksh: Worked on building the Login-signup functionality and backend, also set up firebase for data storage and authentication. Set up the Git Actions

  • This coming week: Will work on issues in the testing pipeline, will work on the backend and pending features.

• Krinal: Found the dataset of US dollar bank note for currency detection feature and worked to find the best ML model for training model with dataset and assisted in setting up the development environment.

  • This coming week: Will work on training the Model and integrating the ML Model into the application.

• Swaraj: Focused on finding the dataset, Data preprocessing and in research of the machine learning model along with Krinal. Assisted in setting up the development environment and understanding Firebase integration.

  • This coming week: Will continue working on training the model, optimizing performance, and integrating the ML model into the application.

• Akhil: Focused on developing key frontend components to enhance user experience and accessibility. Actively collaborating with the team to integrate the UI with backend services and ensure seamless functionality.

  • This coming week: Will work on refining the UI, improving responsiveness, and assisting with API integration to support core application features.

• Khushi: Worked on refining the UI wireframes and setting up the mode selection page structure. Assisted in aligning Sprint 2 frontend tasks with development needs.

  • This coming week: Will implement the mode selection UI and improve the video call interface for better responsiveness and accessibility.

• Harsh: Oversaw project coordination, ensuring smooth collaboration and task alignment. Facilitated team discussions, addressed roadblocks, and managed communication via Slack. Worked on setting up the sprint 2 plan and tracked overall progress. Contributed to UI improvements and assisted Swaraj and Krinal in a research work for ML model and data for currency detection feature.

  • This coming week: Will focus on optimizing team workflow, resolving blockers, and ensuring alignment with sprint objectives. Will assist in firebase integration and improving automation processes

Team activities:

We hosted 2 group meetings:

• Working group meeting 02/28 and 03/03 : Everyone attended.
• In meeting 1 Reviewed Sprint 1 progress, addressed setup challenges, and finalized core features and in Meeting 2 we discussed how we will move ahead with the problem we were facing and to prioritize firebase integration.

Team Project Decisions:

• we prioritized firebase integration and decided to focus on resolving the problems we were facing

Other Comments:

If we manage to progress in the Second Sprint with the planned tasks we will focus more on finetuning the ML model and start working on the TTS and STT functionality.
