I aim to provide: -

1. a useable system which will allow us to write custom pages whereas our main Database will not.

2. a web based application using Open Source applications and tools.

3. basic student data; name, date_of_birth, ULN, etc.

4. customised sections for baseline assessments, behaviour management, work experience and destinations.

5. customisable reporting facilities.

6. customisable add-ins or plugins.

7. a repository for plug-ins and a mechanism to install them.

8. a solid system which will handle data changes over upgrades robustly.

9. an import / export facility to allow data to migrated in or out using standard file formats.

10. rule based inteligence which can alert specific user groups on a specified trigger or event.

11. intelligent processing; such as properly tidying up student records once they have finished their time with us.

12. a system to output ILR submissions in the format specified by the SFA.

13. a visually appealing system

14. a user friendly system with consistent user inteface operations.

15. a secure website conforming to the latest industry practice; i.e. Cross Site Scripting proof, Form forgery proof, etc.

16. easy yet robust backup restore functionality; though this may be as much a function of the underlying OS and implementation than the actual application.

17. A system to import data from an existing ILR file. This obviously contains all the data required for an ILR and therefore much of thew data you would want in your CMIS program. It would make transferring in from a foreign system much easier.
