Exhaust effect config - PatPL/Generic-Engines-Web GitHub Wiki

As of Web.0.9.0, you can add exhaust effects to engines with models, that have visible exhausts.

First, make sure you selected a model with an exhaust. For example, Rutherford, an electric-pump driven engine, doesn't have an exhaust, while F-1B does.

Enable exhaust effects, to reveal more settings.

Settings:

  • Exhaust plume - The plume that will be emitted. IMPORTANT: Due to current GenericPlumes limitations, you have to choose a plume different from engine's main plume
  • Exhaust thrust - The percent of engine's total thrust, that is applied by the exhaust. For example, in an engine with 500kN of thrust, and 10% Exhaust thrust setting, the main engine will emit 450kN of thrust, and the exhaust - 50kN.
  • Exhaust impulse - How efficient is the exhaust compared to the main engine? For example, in an engine with 268s/310s specific impulse (sl/vac), and 50% Exhaust impulse setting, the exhaust will have an Isp of 134s/155s.
  • Exhaust gimbal - What's the gimballing range of the exhaust? The checkbox specifies if the gimbal should be locked to only respond to roll input.

That's it! Now your engine should emit exhaust plume
