Automatic Success

The idea:

Success comes naturally (by itself) if next principles are used:

  1. Mental diet
  2. Keep energy high
  3. No fear to risk

Explanation

Part 1: Prove that I need success to become happy

Type of success

There are 4 possibilities for a person to be:

  1. Successful & Happy (this page about this one)
  2. Unsuccessful & Happy (drugs, computer games, TV can make a person happy at least for some years...)
  3. Successful & Unhappy (stupid target)
  4. Unsuccessful & Unhappy (stupid target)

Successful & Happy (SH) Definition

SH person is one whos acievements are widely respected and appreciated (S) and whos expectation from the life are met in reality (H)

  • S - if people believe that you are valuable
  • H - comes when the reality is at least as good as the expectation

How to become happy?

There are 2 ways:

  1. To live in "virtual" reality (like in "matrix": computer games, drugs, etc.)
  2. Make sure that what you actually receive is no worse that what you expected to get
  • Compensation is what the life gives to you as a compensation for your effort (resourses[money, free time, etc], respect, girlfriend/boyfriend, etc.)
  • Expectations is what you think is fair compensation for your effort

There are 3 theoretically possible ways to be happy:

  1. Very low expectations - Any compensation
  2. Average expectations - Average/High compensation
  3. High expectations - High compensation

There is one important rule(1): "As soon as you know that it can be significanlty better, you cannot just forget this knowledge"

Case 1: practically possible, only when your effort is insignificant (very low) and your basic requirements are still satisfied. Additionally, there should be no people leaving much better life in your surroundings otherwise your expectations become higher. Examples: tribes, people who receiving government support, monks. This life is undesirable for majority, because of rule (1)

Case 2: This case is achievable in a)kommunist-type (flat) societies and b)if you do not want to have better life than on average c)if you can avoid hard work (work in a company with flexible working hours, long vacation, great team members, management, ok salary and interesting and fairly not exhausting job)

Case 3: Working really hard you risk more, because in this case the chance not being compensated high enough is significantly higher, however, this is the only one choice for people with strongly developed brain. Fairly intelligent people cannot be happy with option 1 and 2, because they have ambitions and ideas, which cannot be implemented without having many resourses (become successful)

Resume: How to become happy?

  • There are 2 realistic ways: average-average(a-a) and high-high(h-h)
  • Some people cannot stop on a-a and have to take h-h, otherwise they will not be satisfied and consistent with themselves
  • on a-a way it is important to remember not to envy to h-h guys(since it's fair, they work much more)
  • on h-h track it's important to remember that before you get a lot you need to work a lot (be patient)

How to be successful?

  • To become successful one need to add significant value
  • Your effort is valuable if it cannot be easily reproduced by any average person
  • To become highly valuable you need to produce relatively "unique"
  • To produce relatively "unique" result you need to have advanced knowledge and skills (know how) and by productive (get things actually done)
  • To be productive you need to deliver many human-hours of work (self or employing others)
  • To have advanced knowledge and skills you need to develope it investing much time and applying efficient strategy
  • To invest much time you need to love what you are doing or suffer a lot (does not make any sense!)
  • Efficient strategy is one which efficiently finds, analyses and stores information (system vision and analytical skills are required)

Resume: How to be successful?

  • You need to develop a self-education strategy, which makes you valuable and invest a lot of time in it. Additionally, "get-things-done skill" is mandatory.

Resume: Type of success

So, I am on h-h track, this means that for me there is the only one way, namely, to become highly compensated, what is actually equivalent to become successful.

Part 2: 2 parts of the success

  • As was mentioned before, to become successful, I need to create efficient self-education scheme (ses) and show super performance.
  • There is a conflict here: on short run your performance will be better if you use already known technologies, however, on long run it is sub-optimal strategy.
  • The optimal ses implies constant skills development. Everyday I need to improve my problem solving skills (tools, approaches, speed).
  • This also means that I should not execute repetitive tasks if I already know how to do it efficiently (it is just time wasting). In this case patterns and automation must be used.
  • Curiosity, knowledge database, programming skills and strong analytical mind are required at this point
  • You still need to pick the area and to set goals of your ses (which knowledge you need)
  • To set goals correctly, and prioritize chosen goals you need to develop your framework knowledge

Framework knowledge approach: if you know the framework and yourself prioritization and goas settings are super easy.

  • Framework means we need to define the borders of our space (our playground). You need only relevant knowledge.
  • The idea of this approach is to be fockused on discovering the real rules of the game and causality (connections, reasons and results)
  • The quality of your targets and prioritization are determined by your knowledge of causality relationships within the framework
  • The diffuculty in goals picking and prioritization comes from uncertainty of the final outcome.
  • As soon as you exactly know the outputs it is failry easy to conclude which one is better.
  • You need to understand which factors influence the most in your framework and how to deal with these factors.
  • You need to know yourself, your professional area, location, how to deal with other people etc.

Curiosiry and self experience reflection is the key

  • Use WHY? method
  • Try new things
  • Analyse your experience
  • Save the results in knowledge database
  • Don't afraid to do unknown things

Energy is one of the most important factors:

  • sex
  • sport
  • victories (constantly set a challenge for you)

Menthal diet

  • Very simple rule: "do not fill your brain with useless information!"
  • No TV,computer games, stupid reading, unrelevant news, boolshit chatting etc.
  • Let your brain to analyze interesting and useful information
  • Moreover, the brain needs something to analyse and if you do not let it "eat" shit it will produce genious ideas and projects to analyse. Or at least systemizes all the data inside your head.

Momentum Principle

  • It is much easier to continue the action that to start it
  • With time going the same effort adds much more value (Normally 1 hour of your job costs much more after 10 years in a company)
  • Use it or loose it! You cannot just put something aside, if you stop you degradate
  • If you feel that you are slow take actions, change something to be fast! You need to feel that your are fast!

Depression & Powerless

  • This state is a progressive disease. You cannot ignore it, since it become even worse everyday.
  • There are 2 ways to figt this: biological with power of will and medicine (drugs).
  • The answer: you need just to do something even if you do not want to do it. It getting better while doing

Nirvana is a state of being an animal

  • Do not try to avoid thoughts, you are human! Monks who are trying to get to nirvana without any thoughts are thying to become an animal...
