Beginner: Getting and installing the mod - PaintNinja/Spoucy GitHub Wiki

There are different methods to install the mod client side and server side. Client side is for if you would like to join/play on Spoucy servers, and server side is so that you can add Spoucy features to your server.

Client side

To install the mod so that you can join Spoucy servers, you can either get an official content pack that includes this mod (easy), or you can install the mod yourself (still quite easy)

Official Content Pack Method

  1. Get the Technic Launcher and save it then run it.
  2. Click on "Add New Pack"
  3. Copy the code below then click the "Paste" button http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/craftmine
  4. Click "Add modpack"
  5. Enter your Minecraft.net login details and click "Launch"

Manual Installation Method

  1. Download the latest stable Minecraft Forge from here according to the latest stable version of Spoucy (for example, Spoucy-1.6.4-R1 means that you need to get Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.6.4)
  2. Once you've found the version of Forge you need, click on Installer (Adfly) or (Direct) and save the file to your desktop.
  3. Right click and run it with Java.
  4. Select "Install client" and click the "Install" button.
  5. Download the latest stable version of Spoucy according to the version of Minecraft you have. (for example, Spoucy-1.6.4-R1 means that you need Minecraft 1.6.4 with Forge installed from the previous step)
  6. Do NOT extract it! Go to %appdata%/.minecraft/mods and put Spoucy in there. If the folder doesn't exist, create it.
  7. Start Minecraft using the Forge profile from the dropdown list on the bottom left of the launcher

Server side

To install the mod so that you can add Spoucy features to your server such as custom blocks and items, you need to install it manually. But don't worry! It's almost as simple as installing a Bukkit plugin!

  1. Get MCPC+ from here according to the latest stable version of Spoucy (for example, Spoucy-1.6.4-R1 means that you need to get MCPC+ for Minecraft 1.6.4) MCPC+ is the same as Bukkit, but it's a lot quicker and supports mods such as Spoucy.
  2. Get the latest stable version of Spoucy and download it to your mods folder in the same place where your plugins folder is. If you don't see a mods folder, restart your server with MCPC+. Do NOT extract it!
  3. Done. Enjoy! :D
