Roadmap

Comments

The somewhat standard solution to the problem of adding commenting support to a Jekyll blog is Disqus and a-like. For better control over the comment data, I have planned to introduce support for Staticman.

The section of a post dedicated to comments has been developed alongside with the templating effort (see below). The next step is to actually wire the form to Staticman.

Social Media

When you stumble upon a blog post that you like you might feel the urge to share it with the people you care about. That's why it is important to introduce some handy buttons allowing for an easy way to share posts on social media.

Styling

I decided to slowly create my own blog template rather than use a pre-built one. The obvious pros of this approach is that I will be able to expand my knowledge of HTML5/CSS/JS and become more fluent with these technologies. The anticipated con is that it will take me quite some time to roll out something that, in the end, will look decent and provide an acceptable UX. I'm a brave guy...

The first attempt at a template has been rolled out. However, I'm not too satisfied with it, and as soon as the number of main pages will grow, I will probably change it to a flat design. At the moment is still not clear to me where things like sidebars and menus should go, as they'd be empty at the moment (see the Sectioning section below). Furthermore, I didn't put enough care into the overall reactive design, and the end result on mobile phones in portrait mode is quite poor. As an intermediate step, I will address this issue, but the long-term goal is the design of a new layout. So don't get too attached to the current one!! :P

Sectioning

I have temporarily removed the About page, but it will make its comeback at some point. Also, some more sections (but not too many!) will pop up at some point (perhaps a CV or Resume of sorts?).
