Tenrecs are a family of mammals within the Tenrecidae family, which are mostly nocturnal and have very poor eyesight. They are mostly solitary and the males are highly territorial. They are opportunistic feeders - eating insects, larvae, spiders, and eggs.

Variants

Tenrecs have 4 different variants. These include (from left to right):

Lowland Streaked Tenrec | Hemicentetes semispinosus

Tailless Tenrec | Tenrec ecaudatus

Highland Streaked Tenrec | Hemicentetes nigriceps

Lesser Hedgehog Tenrec | Echinops telfairi

Spawning and Biomes

The Tenrec spawns in savannas and jungles. They have a 15% spawn rate and spawn in groups of 2-3.

Drops

The Tenrec drops Small Wild Meat. It has 5 hit points.

Behaviour

When an entity crosses a Tenrec's hitbox, it will poke the offending entity, causing repetitive, minimal damage until it moves away. They are passive.

Breeding

As of release 1.0, the Tenrec is currently able to have babies. The Tenrec can be bred using Caterpillars, obtained from killing certain Moths and Butterflies.
