This video displays how metal cookie cutters are made by America's largest cookie cutters manufacturing company, Ann Clark cookie cutter.
Mechanism:
- First, a design engineer maps out the shape in a computer.
- Then they make a metal block/mold of the specified shape.
- A machine is used to cut tin sheet into specified length, put a hem on it and roll it into circle.
- The circles are then welded into rings.
- The rings are then loaded to a machine with metal levers and the sample metal block by hand.
- Finally, the metal levers perfectly shape the tin rings into the shape of the metal block creating a cookie cutter.
Advantages:
- Durable
- Easy to use
- Maintain their shape
- Affordable
Drawbacks:
- Chances of corrosion
- Bulky machines
- Loading needs to be done by human
