Motor Sizing

DC Motor for ball release:

Density of acrylic sheet: 1.185g/cubic cm

Volume= 830.8=19.2 cubic cm

Mass= 19.2*1.185= 22.752 g/cubic cm

Force= 0.227 N

Torque= 1.36 kg-cm3

Motor required is of 100 rpm.

Servo motor for ball director

Density of aluminium= 2.7g/cm3

Volume of aluminium channel: 860.5=24cm3g

M=2.7*24= 64.8g

F=0.648 N

Servo hub= V= 3.14222*3= 37.7

M=44.67g

F=0.446N

Total force=1.0926 N

Torque= 1.091.53 =4.9 kg/cm3

The servo motor required is of 30 rpm.

Motor sizing for obstacle rotation:

Density of acrylic sheet: 1.185g/cm3

V=3.14255*4= 314.2

M=372.327

F=3.723

T=5.584kg-cm3

the DC Motor required is of 30 rpm.

DC Motor for slider mechanism

Nylon rod:

V=3.1421.251.25*2.5=12.273

Density= 1.16g/cm3

M=14.23*2= 28.46g

Total mass including: timing pulley+zip ties+ belt = 35.46 g approx.

Force=0.35N

For Aluminium pipe: 3.142*(1-0.8*0.8)*78=49.015

M=132.34g

F=1.32N

Total force: 1.67N

Torque= 1.670.50.6= 1.2 kg-cm3

Thus the DC Motor required is of 100 rpm.
