Spawning vehicles - Outerra/anteworld GitHub Wiki

Scene editor

You can open the scene editor by pressing F9 and navigating to Plugins -> Scene editor in the top left corner of the UI.

In scene editor, you can find vehicles, characters and other objects, using the "Assets" tab

image

To spawn the vehicle, character or object in OWS, you can drag and drop it in the the scene.

Note: You can drag and drop only those that have white name, as they represent the vehicle, character, or object. Blue names represent directories or folders.

Note: Trains can be spawned using scene editor, but they wont work even when placed on rails. To spawn the train correctly on rails (for them to work), you have to spawn them using "Train Spawner" while looking at the rails from the side.

Character

To spawn vehicle or character, you have to double click on it.

Note: Your character automatically enters the vehicle/character, when you spawn it using vehicle spawner.

Note: Trains can be spawned using vehicle spawner, but they wont work even when placed on rails. To spawn the train correctly on rails (for them to work), you have to spawn them using "Train Spawner" while looking at the rails from the side.

Train Spawner

To open train spawner, press 9 (not on numpad, but on top row number, under the F1–F12 keys).

From here you can spawn either trains or wagons.

Wagons

image

To spawn a train or wagon, you can either double click on it, or use the image keys in the train spawner.

Warning: when spawning trains/wagons using the train spawner, you have to look at the rails from the side, while having the rails in the middle of the screen (as show in picture bellow). Otherwise it either doesn't spawn or in case of trains, it wont work if it's not correctly placed on rails.

  • Spawning train set

When a train/wagon is spawned using the train spawner, you can also spawn additional trains or wagons on the left or right side by using the "<-" or "->" buttons. This will add them to the set, allowing them to move together as a train formation. This way, the trains/wagons can be added to the set until the train spawner is closed (or until the "Close & Enter" button is pressed).

  • Removing current train set

You can remove the current train set using the "trash can" sign (this is possible until the train spawner is closed or until the "Close & Enter" button is pressed).
