Asset importer - Outerra/anteworld GitHub Wiki

This page is focused on importing assets/models in Outerra using Asset importer.

In Outerra, you can open Asset importer through "UI (F9)->Plugins->Asset importer" or pressing F5.

In Asset importer go to "File->Open file", choose .fbx asset and press "Open".

Warning: Imported assets have to be in FBX format.

After the asset was succesfully loaded, it should look like this (in this example, we used sample_car_2.fbx)

In first layer of the asset hierarchy, you can set "Package name", which will be used in .objdef, instead of file name.

image

In third layer you can set names of imported files.

Note: "Object name" is assigned to "obj" in .objdef file.

To begin importing, navigate to "Import" and choose the appropriate import option based on what you wish to import.

For a more customized import, go to "Import Custom" where you can specify the exact parts to be imported

The files will be imported into the packages folder.

Note: after the model has been imported, Outerra needs to be restarted.
