Planscape is a wildland resilience decision support and collaboration tool that is intended to help regional land managers plan and prioritize landscape resilience treatments by leveraging the latest data and climate models.
Planscape is intended to provide a holistic view of wildland resilience information using the best available scientific data. Planscape uses an advanced scientific framework and data sources to bring you the information that will help you make and visualize treatment decisions.
Planscape release 25.02.18 launches the new Treatment Effects Tool.
The Treatment Effects Tool enables wildland planners to bring in their own project areas, apply specific treatments such as hand thinning, mastication or prescribed burn at the stand level, and then run an analysis of the effects of those treatments over 20 years, displaying in 5 year increments. The tool utilizes the Forest Vegetation Simulator to generate results of the analysis for forested areas, and the Landfire Total Fuel Change Tool to generate the results of the analysis for non-forested areas.
This tool is designed to work on modern desktop systems or laptops.
Planscape is tested on most recent versions of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox.
Planscape is optimized for browser use on a desktop. It is not advised to use this tool on tablets or mobile devices.
| Issue | Workaround |
| Some boundaries may extend beyond the region. This is an expected behavior in this version. | No workaround. |
| Selecting exclusion areas may limit the planning acreage and cause the scenario runs to fail. | Do not select an exclusion area. |
