1.1 What is DNA? - Oronda/Molecular_biology_concepts GitHub Wiki
DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid in full, is along, complex molecule that contains our unique genetic code. DNA contains all of the information necessary to build and maintain an organism. All living things have DNA within their cells. However, DNA serves more than just specifying the structure and function of living things. It also serves as a primary unit of heredity in organisms of all types. This transmission of all or part of an organism's DNA helps ensure a certain level of continuity from one generation to the next, while still allowing for slight changes that co tribute to the diversity of life.
