Researching web3 alternatives to YouTube - OpenDataforWeb3/Resources GitHub Wiki

We want to start sharing how to and other videos. Perhaps the ODC should lead by example and have for eg a lens protocol - and also use one of the web3 video solutions.

Decent write up here

LBRY: Odyseey is the in-browser app that uses LBRY

DTube:

Lenstube Lenstube, an open-source web3 video-sharing social media platform built on top of Lens protocol 🌿 and live on Polygon mainnet.

  • positives: Open source https://github.com/lenstube-xyz/lenstube
    • Upload content to Arweave and the data is permanently stored on Polygon
    • Sign in with lens protocol
    • collect videos as nft
    • Bankless is posting on it
  • negatives:
    • Project is active on GitHub but only one main contributor
    • Videos are not fast to load (in my experience)

Questions:

  • what are they like - for a creator?
  • token models - is there a way for a channel such as ODC to automatically share tokens w/ a creator?
