Measurement Types

  • Momentary value: a value measured exactly at the time of the read-out
  • Peak value: a maximum or minimum value during a given period

Measurement Value

  • Precision or uncertainty: the number of significant digits (if applicable).
  • Unit: the physical unit of the measurement (if applicable).
  • Value Type: numeric [integer, decimal], string, boolean, DateTime, Time Span or Enumeration.
  • Value Status: any additional information about the value of the measurement which might affect its reliability (e.g. missing, sensor failure, or any additional factor contributing to the reliability of the measurement in question)
  • Value or magnitude: the value of the measurement or observation.

  • Timestamp
  • Location (if sensor is movable)
