Overview

Sources are versioned repositories that are used to create and edit concepts and mappings. Examples of sources include an OpenMRS concept dictionary (e.g. CIEL, AMPATH, PIH), a reference terminology or code set (e.g. SNOMED CT, ICD-10), or an indicator registry (e.g. WHO Indicator Registry). Users may also create custom repositories, which can represent local or proprietary content or content that is still under development. Each source is owned by either a user or an organization.

Note: Collections are used to create subsets of concepts and mappings that are defined in other sources. Refer to Creating and Managing Collections for more information.

Creating a Source

You can add a Source to OCL through your user profile or through an Organization profile.

From the Sources box, choose Add Source in the top right.

Enter the information about the Source you are adding.

• Choose which Type of Source you are adding.

• Set permissions for Public Access to the source (Note that owners can always edit a source):
  • View (default) - Any users may view the source.
  • Edit - Any user may edit the source.
  • None - Only owners may view or edit the source. Note that this requires a premium account to OCL.

• Create an External ID for the source.
• Choose the Locale you want to access the source in.
• Indicate the Supported Locales for the source.
• Provide a Description of the source.
• Add your source!

Now you can view your source on your Organization profile.
