Manses of Hon - Onigato/ExaltedHonese GitHub Wiki

Hon feature a few powerful manse inside it's territory.

Manse

Palace of the Emperor

A large Air Manse •••, with each of the various wings focusing the Essence into the throne room where an alter sits, the Hearthstone plinth. The stone itself, a Gemstone of Spoken Language, is held by the sitting Emperor and acts as the centerpiece of his headpiece.

The War Manses

Shou Mai Fortress and Fortress of Hu Zan

Shou Mai fortress, Earth Manse 3, integrated Essence weaponry, walls nearly a thousand feet tall and a good thirty feet thick (and hollow. The majority of the fortresses actual defensive structure is inside the walls themselves). Not great in terms of materials storage, but generally that's okay because the surprisingly nearby fortress of Hu Zan IS actually a really good storehouse. Hu Zan has an integrated workshop, living space sufficient for an entire Legion (Second Age), stores that would keep that Legion fed for two years, holding those supplies in perfect suspended time.

Shou Mai is obviously the older site, but lost at some point. A fortress was needed on the borderlands, and Hu Zan was scouted out and then improved into a proper Manse and the local Army headquarters. About twenty years after Hu Zan was completed a farmer found Shou Mai purely by accident. As you approach Shou Mai it just looks like a fairly steep hill, a very big hill, with no trees and no dense vegetative growth, but purely "natural". It's only once you are in front of the three hundred foot tall, fifty foot wide, double doored and portcullised gates that you realize it's NOT natural.

Honese manufactories

There is a large manufactory base in Hon, processing cotton into cloth and thereafter into clothes, sails, and other finished goods for export. Honese manufactories are generally water powered, though there are a few that are located on capped Manse 1’s, and those locations are regionally renowned for the quality and speed of their product, largely exporting to Lookshy and Nexus, though some product is exchanged with the Marukani for leather.

Demense

The core of the Black Shimmering Lake

The Chitou of House Keas has had at the center of its territory a demense in the lake they surround. Centuries ago it served as the resting place of a great beast but this one has since moved on to other waters. No member of the family having use of a manse, the location at the center of the lake and it not causing issue has caused it to never been a priority for the family to cap. Kaizoku however has always wanted to do something with it, if nothing else as a challenge to overcome for her hold.
