General Deployment Concerns - Offset-official/Nautilus-One GitHub Wiki
Compiled below are a list of concerns to check and double check before going in the water with the AUV. Safety of all human operators should be the first priority whenever operating the AUV.
- Does the AUV have the necessary memory space to be collecting data? Does the AUV have the necessary programs on board to be running your programs?
- Is the AUV sealed against water entry? Have you double checked the seals to ensure they are not cracked and are properly lubricated? Has a vacuum been pulled within the tubes and are the seals in place?
- Do you have the correct ballast set up for the water you are going to perform your trial in?
- If operating with a tether, do you have the necessary room and personnel lined up to have a successful trial? Do you have someone able to operate the computer, operate the tether, and have a third person in the water with Nautilus One? Is the tether connected correctly?
- Do you have the sufficient swimming skills and necessary gear to work with the AUV in a trial environment? Do you and those you are with have sufficient knowledge of the the AUV system to be operating it?
