Using batteries on the AUV

The AUV uses 2 4s 16000mAh 30C Lithium Ion batteries.

Each tube will hold one battery and the batteries can be interchanged between the two. Once a battery has been plugged correctly, it's voltmeter will indicate the battery's current voltage output.

Reading voltage

The number shown in red on the voltmeter is the voltage for the entire battery. A 4s battery has 4 cells in series, so at the battery minimum of 14.8V, each cell will be at 3.7V. At the 16.8V maximum for the battery, the cells will be at 4.2V. The voltmeter does not indicate whether the voltage of the cells are balanced / equal, hence, it is always recommended to use balance port to ensure that all the cells have the same voltage for optimal battery performance and longevity. During operation always ensure that the voltage shown does not drop below 14.2, this is may lead to damage which can prevent the battery from being recharged in the future.
