What is KiradigiASM?

Housing and environment in Espoo is volunteering to try something new for the good of all citizens. Their well-being is our top priority.

Kiradigi = KIRA-digi boosts the digitalisation of the built environment and construction sector! The Finnish Government’s key project involves ministries, municipalities and the KIRA forum. The aim is to create an open and interoperable information management ecosystem for the built environment.

ASM = Asset Management System

Why are we building KiradigiASM?

Massive data sets are really (really!) hard to keep up to date, which leads to inconsistencies and errors. Flaws are harder to fix later on and data input needs plenty of human resources skilled in both infra and GIS. Data quality must not be overlooked because it is the key to knowledge management and business intelligence.

We want to build a documented, flexible and open infra asset management database to use with other open source tools like QGIS and Geoserver. The model can be used all over the world.

Is it ready?

The data model is still under construction. We're aiming to make the model as efficient as possible. We'll publish all the results in December 2017! In the meantime fork it and make it your own! :)
