Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR) user research agreement

Thanks for taking the time to speak with us. This consent notification relates to interviews conducted by the Office of Natural Resources Revenue. Please read this information carefully and ask any questions you have before agreeing to take part in our project activities. Impact

Things we learn during our research may be made public in reports, shared online, and used in presentations. We will not use your real name in any of our published or presented research materials. Taking part in this research study will not benefit you personally, but we may learn new things that will help others. Participating in this interview or workshop in no way guarantees special consideration and will have no bearing whatsoever on the outcome of any interactions or contracts with the U.S. Government.

Taking Part is Voluntary

Participation in an ONRR user research interview is completely voluntary. You can withdraw your sign-up or end your participation in the interview at any time.

Confidentiality

We will take necessary and appropriate precautions to protect your confidentiality. You will not be asked to disclose any private details beyond your name and where you work. Any transcriptions that are made of your conversation will not be tied to your name. Research records and raw data are stored in secure Microsoft Teams files that can only be accessed by current members of the ODDD team. You may request the raw notes from your interview by contacting [email protected] If you wish to have your anonymized statements and data removed from our analysis and reports at any time, contact [email protected]

Privacy Act Statement

ONRR's user research is conducted in the spirit of Executive Order 13571, Section 2B, which directs agencies to “establish mechanisms to solicit customer feedback on government services and use such feedback regularly to make service improvements.” To protect your privacy, ONRR uses information collected through user research in accordance with the DOI Privacy Policy.

Statement of Consent

By providing my verbal consent during the interview I confirm that: I have read the above information and received answers to any questions I asked. I consent to take part in this interview and to have any information I provide be used in the manner described above. I understand that I will receive no compensation and waive all claims for compensation from the U.S. government in exchange for my participation in this research. I expressly release the Office of Natural Resources Revenue from and against any and all claims that I have or may have for invasion of privacy, defamation, or any other cause of action arising out of the production, distribution, display, or publication of the results of the project, so long as the conditions of use described above are met.
