Toilets specification - ODIQueensland/ocd-standards GitHub Wiki
This page contains stuff related to developing the Toilets specification.
Tracey is leading this stream.
It has 4. steps:
1. Research standards
Existing standards
- Open Council Standards
- a schema for public toilet data in the UK and the schema
- changing places
- BCC Analysis of Toilet Standards version 1 and version 2.
Requirements / User stories
- As a person in a wheelchair, I want to ..., so that ... .
- As a publisher of Toilet data, I want to contribute my data to other popular apps (e.g. Open Street Map, the National Public Toilet Map) so that I increase the options for people to easily find and assess toilet facilities.
- As an asset owner, I want to demonstrate my compliance with the law so that my performance is transparent and I can be held accountable.
Data custodians
- Queensland Government, Transport and Main Roads, TRANSLink
- Local Councils
- Queensland Rail
Existing data
Sources of information about toilets in Queensland:
- Data tagged toilets on data.gov.au
- Changing places
- Transport and Main Roads
- Gold Coast
- Sunshine Coast
- Brisbane City
- Logan City
- Moreton Bay
2. Define specification
The specification will be:
- contributed to Open Council Standards to encourage use across all Australian Local Councils
- defined as a data package and json table schema.
The specification is being drafted and commented on in this Google Sheet.
3. Publish data
- publish some test data
- publish metadata i.e. a json schema for the toilet specification
4. Use data
Potential data consumers:
- Community Information Support Services
- Open Street Map Project Disabilities. Create mapping from this specification to support bulk import to OSM.
- Open Street Map Features (General)
- Wheelmap.org. Create mapping from this specification to support bulk import to Wheelman.org.
Potential uses
- show toilets on a map
- find my nearest open toilet that fits my needs
- rate the data
- crowd-source the data
