Agenda & Notes

  1. House Keeping Items
    • Any updates to previous action items?
    • Ok with filling out the form to be included in the next iteration of COIs
  2. OCFL Java - next steps and considerations
    • Should we reconsider our relationship to larger library communities (consider slack space for example)
    • How does the need to find a home for ocfl-java impact our current "organizational model"
    • What are some other models that we might consider so the editors aren't responsible for maintaining software (e.g. drupal model; our extensions model)
    • What is the discussion we want to have with the community re: ocfl-java?
      • Adopt the Drupal model of "maintainer of maintainers". Rosy to investigate.
      • We will decide terms under which code comes under OCFL's umbrella. Whether or not code joins is up to maintainers.
      • Talk to Scott/Wisconsin about this and OCFL Java.
      • Tweak website to point at code4lib Slack & other comms channels. Rosy to investigate.
      • Oxford owns ocfl.io? Neil to investigate.
  3. Discussion about in person meeting
    • Neil will be in the US this summer. Philadelphia 16-20 Aug. Kansas City 28 Aug-4 Sep.
    • When could people meet up?
    • Where makes sense to meet up?
      • Simeon's schedule conflicts with Neil's US travel, so that window is closed.
  4. Review outstanding PRs
    • #590. Do we still need this since @zimeon is making progress toward the spec in markdown?
      • No, this will be superseded by the markdown move.
      • Speaking of Markdown: https://zimeon.github.io/ocfl-spec2md/spec
      • Older version (1.0 and before) will stay in ReSpec; new versions will be in Markdown. If something breaks in 1.0 we'll convert it, but not without cause.
      • Draft and 1.1 will be in Markdown.

Not discussed / ran out of time

  • #583. Needs review by editors.
  1. Review outstanding 1.1 Tickets
    • #557. Need to revisit based on changes from #584
    • #565. Can close with PR #583
    • Are we ok with shipping 1.1 once we close the above tickets?
  2. Conference timetables for next year; anything to submit for these?
    1. Open Repositories - Denver dates June 6-9
    2. PASIG - June 10, 2022 (after OR) in Denver Colorado
