1.1 of Spec milestone

  • When are editors available for working on this?
  • 1.1 plan and principles
    • 1.1 only includes non-breaking changes
    • 1.1 (and point releases in general) are backwards compatible
      • Object versions must be monotonically increasing
  • Community message to be drafted/posted re:1.1
    • Communicate goals and scope of 1.1
    • Define process for adding new issues in the 1.1 review period
    • Define timeline (including a scope freeze: July 1)
  • Action: Neil to draft release process
    • Include: community review of at least one month
    • Include: period for iteration/response to community review
    • Include: requirement for creation of fixtures and validators prior to 1.1

In the meantime

  • Highlight 1.1 issues that were discussed in editors meeting
  • Note all post-1.0 issues
  • Action: Andrew to categorize outstanding git issues into:
    • non-controversial issues, requiring broader discussion, etc

Zenodo

  • Neil has created a space in Zenodo for:
    • recordings
    • presentations
    • etc
  • Zenodo provides for GitHub integration

Action Items

  • Neil to draft 1.1 release process
    • Include: community review of at least one month
    • Include: period for iteration/response to community review
    • Include: requirement for creation of fixtures and validators prior to 1.1
  • Andrew to categorize outstanding 1.1 git issues into: non-controversial issues, requiring broader discussion, etc

Previous Action Items

  • Rosy to draft email to the community letting them know that we are ready to start work on a 1.1 version of the spec.
  • Neil to look into Zenodo for hosting our community meeting videos.
