Notes

OCFL/NDSA meeting

  • potential for future collaboration
  • OCFL provides implementation guidance that follows from NDSA recommendations
  • Andrew will follow up with Justin Simpson from Archivematica
  • Someone from CDL reached out to Andrew
  • lots of 'secret interest'
  • Harvard is planning OCFL in S3 this year

Community Engagement

  • one does not simply change preservation storage overnight
  • some folks may just be waiting for 2.0 to engage
  • bagit doesn't have a community but is widely adopted
  • but also PCDM, which doesn't have community and is withering
  • Maybe do a simple survey to gauge interest/awareness amongst related communities? To discover implementations and encourage more participation
  • Maybe more engagement will happen when 2.0 work starts
  • Brown, Harvard, Fedora, (Samvera) implementing -- Cornell, Stanford needs & wants it, but internal resourcing delaying implementation
