Notes

  1. Community Updates
    • Brian Wheeler from Indiana University looking into OCFL for organizing 19 petabytes of tape data.
      • Still evaluating technologies. Considering Fedora 6 (currently using Fedora 3) or rolling their own.
    • Michael Lynch putting together a proposal for putting a data platform backed by OCFL: https://arkisto-platform.github.io/
    • Andrew Woods: Fedora 6 is coming along and is well into alpha
    • Ben Cail: David Cliff recently mentioned working on a Valkyrie storage adapter
  2. Editorial Updates
    • 1.0 released!
    • Please continue to file use cases and issues
    • Andrew Hankinson is leaving Bodleian and is stepping down as an editor
  3. Extensions
    • Ben Cail: What is the process? How do we know when they're ready? Who merges them?
      • Give people write access?
      • Community members review and merge?
      • Should approval evaluate for more than correctness? Contain editorial suggestions?
      • Require a certain number of approvals?
      • Extensions should ideally be broadly useful.
    • Need to get https://github.com/OCFL/extensions/pull/13 merged before merging any extensions
