Notes

  • Are there any validation tools for OCFL?
    • Simeon has started one in Python
    • Andrew H has started one in Go
    • Both will continue developing since each might have different uses, and it is good to have more than one implementation
  • Institutional Collaborations
    • Discussion on Institutions that might implement OCFL.
    • Neil to contact Data-Futures regarding engagement
      • Consortium of institutions
      • Interested in rescuing legacy sources
  • Issues for Beta Release
    • PR#296 - State the hash to be used, and not include reasoning behind it. Reasoning could be given in the implementation notes, instead.
    • #292 - Only include hashes with "community support" in the table. Updates to the table will result in version bumps for the spec.
    • #270 - Consensus was for "the OCFL"
  • NDSA Levels of Preservation
    • Does not mention openness or interoperability of preservation storage
    • A revision effort for the Levels of Preservation started last year.
    • Raise openness of preservation storage with current committee.
