Agenda

  1. Identification of overarching concepts in the Discussion Paper e.g. versioning, storage, etc.
  2. Review Use cases.
    1. Organization of tickets based on concepts (labels).
  3. Review spec repo and discuss mechanics of contributing
  4. Review open issues
  5. Editors meeting schedule: weekly or bi-weekly?
  6. Revisit items that were not discussed at 2018-03-28 face-to-face meeting
  • Deep-dive similarities and differences between OCFL and Moab
    1. Advantage Moab:
    • File size
    • File date-times
    • “fileInstance”s for renaming files
    • versionAdditions.xml
    • fileInventoryDifferences.xml
    • One never changes files in a Moab, addition of a version is simply addition of new files (in OCFL one has to update versions.jsonld)
    1. Advantage OCFL:
    • Single file in root for understanding package structure
    • “Packaging” (tar / zip) built into spec
    • Self-describing version numbers (e.g. “This object is OCFL v.1.0”)
    • Provision for object provenance logging in the object (but not of the object).
