4.1 - Establishing functions

What the board must do for the player, and what the design must do to make that happen.

# Functions from user perspective Functions from designer perspective
1 To be able to control the movement of chess pieces through an app. Detect our chess piece movement with the help of sensors and respond to it accurately.
2 The final product should look put together and visually appealing. Allow the bot to eliminate the opponent's piece without disturbing other pieces on the board.
3 There should be a visual or sound indicator for checkmate and wrong moves. Control the display of all the buttons.
4 The physical chess board should be connected to an app. Provide necessary power supply and Wi-Fi to the system.
5 The physical game being played should be stored as history. Detect touch to move by the player.
6 The app should have all those functions a chess game usually has. Control display of LEDs and buzzer.
7 The chess board should have a pause/resume button. Ensure the right placement and movement of the magnets under the board.
8 User should be able to choose difficulty level. Allow the user to choose the level of difficulty.
9 There should be a timer (different time limits for different difficulty levels). Detect legal and illegal moves.
10 The bot should detect illegal moves. Minimize the noise produced by the motors.
11 The bot should function properly and avoid, detect malpractices. Prevent collision between the pieces.
12 After a game is finished, the chess pieces should move to their original places without colliding. Maintain the sync between the hardware and software.
13 The eliminated chess pieces should move to their assigned places on/off the board mechanically/manually. Connect the chess engine to ESP32.
14 User should get points which cumulate after each game. Hold the eliminated pieces off the board.
15 User should be assigned ranks and given rewards based on his/her performance in the app. Select the player colour.
16 The chess bot should be such that it can be turned on/off so that the game can be played both by 2 humans or between a human and bot (two-player mode). Smooth movement of chess pieces.
17 The game played by 2 humans should also be displayed on the app. –
