Installation Guide (DLSSTweaks ini method)

Pre-Requirements:

  • Be a member of the PureDark Patreon and Discord.

Mod Installation:

  1. Download the KCD Mod:

    • Visit the KCD downloads on Discord and download the mod.
      • Note: Make sure that your live protection (Windows Defender or other antivirus) does not block the download.
  2. Add Folder Exclusion in Windows Defender (To prevent the false flag):

    • Open PowerShell as Administrator:

      • Right-click the Start menu and choose Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    • Run the following command to add an exclusion for the mod folder:

      Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Bin\Win64"

(Make sure to replace the path if your game is located in a different folder.)

  3. Extract the Mod:

    • Extract the mod files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Bin\Win64.
  4. In-Game Settings

    • Motion Blur: Full
      • Note: Mod disables the blur itself, but it is needed for getting motion vectors.
    • Anti-aliasing: SMAA 2TX

dlssg-to-fsr3 Installation:

  1. Download the DLSS Tweaks Edition of the mod:

    • Copy the extracted files to the Win64 folder.
  2. Download DLSSTweaks:

    • Open the DLSSTweaks program, click Copy to game folder... and select the Win64 folder.
    • When prompted for a name, name it nvngx.dll.
    • Optional: Set the DLSS model for each preset to K for the transformer model.
  3. Configure dlsstweaks.ini:

    • Open dlsstweaks.ini and remove the semicolon (;) before nvngx_dlssg =.

    • Set the path to the following:

      nvngx_dlssg = C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Bin\Win64\dlssg_dlsstweaks_wrapper.dll

Optional Steps:

DLSS Transformer:

  • In the KCDUpscaler.ini, set mDLSSPreset = 0 to use the default preset determined by DLSSTweaks.

  • Update the DLSS file located in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Bin\Win64\mods\UpscalerBasePlugin\Streamline

Decrease HUD Ghosting:

Using dlssg-to-fsr3 with DLSS3-4 mods like this cause ghosting. This issue arises because it is a non-native implementation. To reduce the amount of HUD to decrease ghosting, install Immersive HUD:

  1. Download and Install Immersive HUD:
    • Download Immersive HUD.

    • Place the file zzz_hud.pak in the following folder:

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\zzz_hud\Data\
