My Notes

Been feeling pretty good about my role as lead this week, even though we're still in the early stages and haven't produced anything yet. I did find a promising task management tool called Milanote, but it's a bit pricey for us right now. Maybe something to consider once Scraprunners starts generating moolah (in, say, 3 years?).

Art

This went great this week. Spent some time practicing painting a tire – it's harder than it looks! I'm committed to our stylized approach, even though it's more challenging than going for photorealism.

Tom officially joined the art team and got himself a new tablet. Kayla's still on the fence, but I'm hopeful she'll come on board. We could really use another artist to help push things forward, and ideally, she'd be up for more than just concept work.

Coding

Ryan's been getting acquainted with the vehicle mechanics in Unreal Engine, which is a good sign. Hoping to ramp up coding next month.

Jake has been working his magic, we have a brief discussion about PCG and how it could help build out the level.

Music

On the music front, we've got John on board now. He seems really excited about creating dynamic music tied to in-game obstacles.

Juliano and Travis are taking a break from game dev for a while, so we'll be without them for the foreseeable future and I will be omitting them from these notes until they return.
