TX Power

Transmission power differs substantially by region, a good list of allowed power levels can be found here.

Antennas

Please note your helically polarised antennas will do more harm than good for wifi like signals, which are already designed to cope with multipath.

Used various modules obtained from aliexpress, performance has been mostly uniform.

Observations:

• TX Performance Poor
• RX Sensitivity is very good, especially for 5.8g
• Driver supports almost all available options
• Only works reliably with modernish (2yrs or younger) linux kernels
• Supports channel 14 in rx and tx modes

Intel 5300

Observations

• Works in monitor mode at the required rates
• RX Performance OK, but will depend on laptop antennas
• Does NOT support channel 14
