monkey support - NicheInterests/mistfunk GitHub Wiki

The artgroup Relic's MS-DOS art viewer program RelicVu 2.61x was included in their final regular pack release in December of 1994. The program was written by Greater Evil but the specifics of its most intriguing element to me, the Flying Monkeys [screensaver] [easter egg], are credited to Hunchback. Basically this is functionality I'd like to see reproduced in all applications, maybe with a bit of transparency behind the monkeys but otherwise unaltered. How is it this hasn't made its way into Emacs yet?

The monkeys only appear at the main menu screen (you can idle while viewing any given piece of [ANSI art] and the colours will burn themselves into your CRT monitor while you wait for the monkeys to arrive), and the speed at which the flying monkeys black out the screen can be tweaked by manually editing RELICVU.CFG

PS, the monkeys kick in around 40 seconds in at youtube.com/watch?v=iAus21dTJ1A&feature=youtu.be
