kRAP - NicheInterests/mistfunk GitHub Wiki

Based out of Etana's BBS [DoDEL] as its WHQ, kRAP was a small artgroup in area code 604, pioneered by weird, that emerged while Mist Classic was kind of mysteriously absent in pursuit of undertaking the Mistigris World Tour. Though it managed to land some international distro sites, presumably as a result of canvassing on the IRC, the core of the group was entirely 604-based, and its membership, including Dead Soul, Feral, Happyfish and Mr. Flibbles, were more interested in participating in Mist activities once it became apparent that we weren't actually on hiatus.

Your group isn't really real until it has a release, until which all kinds of particulars are up in the air -- such as the crew's name. Apparently they went through phases of referring to themselves as "bent", "smog", and "vague", and ultimately lost the nerve needed to release their Feb 1997 debut pack under their original krappy name, briefly rebranding themselves "sock" before becoming incorporated wholesale into Mist. Though they were small, they were mighty, with a great can-do attitude and a general lack of concerns over keeping up in the eliteness sweepstakes. Our most successful merger, the kRAP energy kept Mist Classic moving forward through our World Tour until our final doldrums around QC and the emergence of Hallucigenia in mid-'98 wound everything down to an indefinite halt.
