EMAG

  1. n. An e lectronic mag azine which generally runs on locally-executed code. Also referred to as a mag, diskmag, or zine.

from The Artscene Dictionary

So, how is a zine different from an e-mag (the e- seems to distinguish it from a mag at least), and splitting the hair even finer, how is a diskmag different from one? There was prior art for zines existing in hard copy form in the small press world, which you could find evidence of late at night at any Kinko's copy centre. There also were electronic zines (sometimes called e-zines but often simply zines) but largely they were [tfile]s, circulated as raw text rather than as executables.

What differentiates them from diskmags? I think the terms basically describe the same thing, but "e-mag" seems to be more standard North American PC artscene usage, whereas you see "diskmag" more in European Commodore demoscene contexts.
