DISKMAG
- n. Diskmags could be described as electronic magazines or fanzines, made by sceners for sceners. They usually contain tutorials, interviews, news, party reports and much more. Unlike newsletters, or articles on the web, the content is integrated in an unique interface with (hopefully pleasing) graphics and background music. Diskmags are a solid platform for scene related communication and information.
While diskmags have lost quite a bit of their importance on pc (information and communication is web-based nowadays), they are still a vital part of the c64/amiga/atari scene. (source: PC Demoscene FAQ)
- n. A diskmag is an electronic magazine or newsletter that is distributed on a semi-regular basis. It usually has demoscene news, reviews, party reports, and general rambling. Diskmags are similar to musicdisks (see FAQ 6.1) in that they are executable programs that come with their own reader, which itself usually has a nice selection of music and interface graphics.
