COMIC RIP

1. n. A piece of artwork, typically ANSI or RIP, which is based upon or relies heavily upon as a reference the artwork from a comic book, such as Spawn or X-Men. When done in the extremely low resolution mediums (such as ANSI) this form of copying is traditionally accepted because the artist is not trying to pass himself off as the original creator of said comic. The art itself is the mastery of interpreting a sometimes complex or detailed image in to such a crude, low resolution format. See also: copy art
