SONiC EQUiNOX (SE) - NicheInterests/mistfunk GitHub Wiki
An early version of SONiC EQUiNOX formed as an aspirational demogroup, with Illusionary Enigma / Indigo Dreamer helming its music division and the whole undertaking being coordinated out of Darkforce's pre-Integrity BBS the House of Style. There, Onyx and Freaq composed several bombastic tracker music compositions to announce their demo debut, but prospective projects to showcase them in ramped up and fizzled out without ever really having anything to show for it.
In time the community achieved a stable plateau as a kind of area code 604 tracker music social club, hosted out of Eto's eponymous [Entrance to Obscurity] (ETO) BBS, where mostly Onyx wrote music, garnished with a few supporting tracks by Lethal Impact, Dark Avatar and Beyond Inertia. (Eventually, Zinc came on board also.) A rotating cast of local multimedia-curious programmers were also in the eaves over the years, including Questor, Dr. CPU, and Hexx of the much-used [EMIK] sound programming kit.
SE (by which I mean Onyx's music and Eto's programming) were a major component of the New Media Group's 604 Music Disc, and Mist Classic released a de facto Mistigris World Tour music disk with them -- SE_D0597 -- toward the end of our peregrinations.
We kicked off 2024 by putting on our New Media Group hat and releasing a final Sonic Equinox music disk of unreleased music (SE_D0124), primarily the handiwork of Onyx. (That collection contained so much unreleased music -- hours of it -- that it quintupled the overall quantity of SE music in circulation.)
