For a few years starting around 2018-19, nearly every Mistigram post to Facebook (and many to Instagram) received likes and not-obviously-pertinent Japanese comments from a user called Ai Fukusima. The questionable communication achieved with this superfan (who apparently got on our trail after fervently following her countryman [Shift-JIS] artist Kalcha) gave rise to speculation about whether they were even a real person, or possibly an artificial intelligence ("Ai"), perhaps one trapped in the crumbling hulk of a decommissioned nuclear reactor (eg. at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant following the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011.)

It turns out that truth is sometimes less strange than fiction, when the fiction is exceptionally strange, but in any event if you see references to this enthusiastic individual in Textmode Friends joints around 2020, we were giving them puzzled but quite sincere shout-outs.
