A joke long in the telling, in the '90s a number of ANSI artists from Pennsylvania thought it would be funny to temporarily come together and pose as a crew of technology-shunning Mennonites minting artisanal handmade computer art screens particular to their rustic community. In 2017 and 2018 a cadre of artists, primarily active in Blocktronics, came together to realise this joke twice. There have been no further AMiSH releases since, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they're a spent force. (xer0, specifically, continues threatening to churn the butter further.)
